In order to give you some feel for the quality of host home within our portfolio we have provided a description of three of the properties below.

Marble Arch
This is a modern town house situated in a wealthy and elegant residential area just to the west of Marble Arch, and around a small central garden square. Its location, close to Oxford Street, Hyde Park and Park Lane means that it is very well served by all forms of transport – buses, taxis and the Underground – as well as shops, entertainment, restaurants and of course speedy access to the open spaces of Hyde Park and the Serpentine.
The house is on three floors and the three double or twin guest rooms are on the first and second floors, two overlooking the rear patio garden and one facing the square gardens in the front, each with an ensuite bathroom or shower room. Your hostess a small, petite lady decorates in a colourful style with an emphasise on gold and cream and a clever use of mirrors to enhance the feeling of space. The house is beautifully decorated and each of the bedrooms is very comfortably furnished with sofas or armchairs and a personal TV.
South Kensington
London is very fortunate in having many attractive garden squares, around which are situated some lovely mansions. Access to the garden squares is restricted to the owners of the properties and their friends, a privilege to be enjoyed by many of Uptown’s guests.
This property is one such, a large apartment on three floors in an imposing house around a square within a few minutes’ walk of South Kensington. Thus it is ideally located for the three major London museums, the Natural History, Science, and Victoria & Albert museums; as well as the underground, numerous small bijoux restaurants, and shopping in Knightsbridge and of course Harrods.
This apartment is beautifully decorated in a traditional manner and with great taste. The guest accommodation is on the garden level with immediate access to the gardens, and consists of a large bedroom with a sleigh double bed an adjacent seating area with a personal TV, and a large very contemporary shower room with a spacious walk in double shower.
Kensington
This is a very elegant Regency home on five floors in an extremely fashionable area of London, just off Kensington High Street in a tree lined area and manicured front gardens. The host, a titled lady, has had the house carefully interior designed to create an elegant, yet comfortable home. There is immediate access to Kensington High Street and hence to excellent shopping and transport. Kensington Palace, once home to Princess Diana, and Kensington Gardens are within easy walking distance and Notting Hill together with the Portobello Antiques Market is but a modest walk away.
The guest accommodation on the third floor is in an unusual layout and is therefore always let as a single family unit. It comprises 2 double bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom and one with a bathroom on the floor below. All the accommodation has just been renovated and redecorated and the modern bathrooms are provided with under floor heating. There is a beautiful sitting and library for the guests’ use; but above all they are ensured of a very warm welcome from their enthusiastic hostess.
